Strength Coach

With roots in NYC’s Upper East Side, Dave is right at home at EVF Performance. In addition to his role as Strength Coach, Dave is an active professional powerlifter, sponsored by elitefts.com and currently ranked in the top five in the 198-pound weight class by powerliftingwatch.com. He recently earned the runner-up spot at the XPC Championships at the 2013 Arnold Classic.

Dave’s experience spans a broad range of roles including 15+ years of personal training, coaching, education, and club management experience at Asphalt Green, Equinox, Cando Fitness, and American Leisure. Dave earned a BS in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland, and is a respected presenter and coach for a number of professional training seminars along the East Coast, including elitefts.com’s Learn to Train series.

From a very early age, Dave knew — without question — that he would work in the fitness industry. While Dave’s friends may describe him as “relentlessly wisecracking”, he is serious when it comes to developing his clients’ strength and challenging expectations of themselves. He is highly motivated by seeing people achieve what was previously thought to be impossible, and has been particularly impressed by the work ethic of the EVF community. His single-minded drive for the pursuit of strength fuels his achievements and training — as Dave notes, “I have no idea who won the last Superbowl or World Series, but I can tell you how to put 20 pounds on your squat in one training session.”

FYI: while strolling NYC … if you come across a 210-pound professional powerlifter walking a hairless Terrier in a pink pajama outfit and matching flower harness, you’’ll have met Dave.
