Battle of the Fittest 3: Event details

Event day details
The first heat of Event 1 will kick off at 9 a.m. Event 2 is scheduled to start at 11:05 a.m., and Event 3 will start at 12:40 p.m. The top 5 from each division will go onto the final event around 2:30 p.m., and we’ll announce winners around 3:45.

What to bring: an extra shirt or two, protein powder, water bottle, recovery drink, snacks,  jump rope, lifting belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, hoodie or sweater, tape, lifting shoes, WOD shoes, an extra hair tie and/or headband for the ladies and, of course, your adoring fans. There will be no spectator fee.

Please bring snacks or lunch if you plan on staying all day. We will have snacks and drinks for sale, as well as fruit.

We can’t wait to see you there! Rest up, and come ready to work.

Workout 1
RX men & women:
7 minutes to establish MAX SNATCH

Scaled men & women:
7 minutes to establish MAX CLEAN

Athletes rest 2 minutes after event 1.1 before moving on to…

Event 1.2 (50 points available)
RX men:
4 minutes to complete
20 pull ups
15 C2B pull ups
10 handstand push ups (abmat + 25# plates)*
*Optional substitute: 30 push ups (must be established with judge ahead of time, and cannot switch at any point)

RX women:
4 minutes to complete
30 pull ups
10 handstand push ups (1 abmat)*
*Optional sub: 20 push ups (must be established with judge ahead of time, and cannot switch at any point)

Scaled men:
4 minutes to complete
30 jumping C2B pull ups
30 burpees

Scaled women:
4 minutes to complete
30 jumping pull ups (chin over bar)
30 burpees

Workout 2
RX men & women:
21-15-9 reps of
Kettlebell swings (53/35)
Thrusters (21: 95/65, 15: 115/75, 9: 135/95)

Scaled men & women:
21-15-9 reps of
Russian kettlebell swings (53/35)
Thrusters (21: 65/45, 15: 75/55, 9: 95/65)

One bar per athlete. Athlete will change his or her own weight between rounds. 9 minute time cap.

40 box jump overs (24/20)
30 toes to bar
20 power cleans (135/95)
10 pistols

Scaled men & women:

100 single unders
40 box jump overs (24/20)
30 abmat sit ups
