Director of Sales & Membership Services

Julia is responsible for sales and member — helping the community understand who we are and what we offer and making sure our clients are happy at EVF. While she’s now working with the EVF Performance team on the corporate side, Julia has an extensive fitness background with certifications from Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning, AFAA General Group Exercise, and AFAA Cardio Kickboxing. She is also CPR certified.

A self-described tomboy growing up, Julia could always be found playing sports, rollerblading, climbing tress, swimming, biking, playing handball and running. Each and every day was filled with athletic activities before it could be deemed a “good day”. It’s this upbringing that influenced her beliefs and attitude toward fitness and training, which are grounded in getting healthy the old-fashioned way – working hard and eating properly.

Professionally, Julia has been involved in fitness for nearly a decade, beginning her career as Member Services Manager at Reebok Sports Club/NY. A short foray away from fitness and into pharmaceutical sales reignited her passion for sports and wellness as she realized medications were not necessarily a prescription for good health. Julia returned to fitness, teaching spinning and cardio kickboxing classes and driven by a desire to convince clients to get started on a better life and results through exercise. She believes that working working hard and pushing yourself physically takes you to greater levels emotionally, socially and mentally, and she’s particularly inspired by people who have overcome the obstacles of life-threatening diseases.

An avid CrossFitter, Julia enjoys any workout that involves deadlifting. She’s also into spinning, but draws the line at Zumba. Julia’s friends describe her as loyal, hardworking, trustworthy and honest — and her former clients will add that she’s “awesome.” She typically gets a surprised look when it’s revealed she plays handball…usually followed by a smile.

Julia’s philosophy can be be best summed up by a quote from Shinna Lim, “Its not about the number of pounds you shed or how much bulk you put on. Fitness is beyond the physical. It’s a way of life. It shapes character, it cultivates discipline and it instills conscious living.”
