Saturday 3/29/2014 CrossFit Workout of the day

By: 0

For those members at our east side location who are not registered for the Open we highly encourage you to take our 360 class tomorrow at 9am. Todays CF workout has no time cap. Due to those logistics we can not set times for heats. It may be awhile before you get to go. I would consider taking a class at our west side location, or our 360 at 9am. Thank you for your understanding. We do however want everyone to come in and cheer your fellow members on. One community.

This is the final 2014 Reebok Open Workout. This has been a truly amazing ride for so many of you. First double unders, first toes to bar, personal records and achievements made each week. This is what the open is all about. For us we celebrate our hard earned victories and learn from those moments where we did not excel.

It’s in those times of disapointment that you learn exactly where you are and where you wish to go. Compare yourself to no one. The open is 5 workouts. It does not define you or the work you put in. It is 5 workouts that test your skill sets, work capacity and mental fortitude. The only thing you need to do is give it your best shot and enjoy the ride.

If there was no open, no CrossFit games, no Reebok sponsors, no Rich Froning, I would still be doing this and loving every second of tomorrows workout. During the workout? Prob not so much, but after I’m cracking open a cold one. My workout, my victory, my love.

I am very proud of everyone. Not only for your own personal efforts but for how strong of a community you have become.

Never let anyone change that or break this bond we have formed. This is something truly special and it has been made that way because you all hold dear our values of one community. From our very first members to our newest, everyone has made this place into what it is. Over the course of the last 5 weeks I have watched you all cheer for one another, hug one another, console one another and most of all truly care for another. To me there is no price tag to be placed on that. It is the magic that makes this truly powerful and life changing for so many of us.

Tomorrows workout is a game changer. No way OUT! Hydrate tonight and get some good rest. Do not wait to drink water tomorrow and by all means avoid drinks with sugar like my red bulls in the AM 🙂

Wear your Oly’s and wrist wraps. Look to pace yourself out of the gates. Depending how thrusters feel at (95/65) for you look to break them up into managable sets. Do not look to keep pace with the games athletes. That would be just plain silly. If you redline too soon, your screwed. The idea is to have something left in the reserves once those reps start to descend and get into the rounds of 12 and 9. Then with everything you have left, YOU GO!

Stay consistent and within yourself. Look to make every rep count, no bro reps! We will help you strategize more tomorrow. Look to get there as early as can, you will be responsible for warming up and preparing yourself. Bars will be set up and athletes will be called upon to be ready.

We will end off at our fav second home at East End grill once all athletes have finished. A much well deserved adult beverage will be in order. I will also have some at the box. Your hard earned reward for a crap ton of burpees and thrusters.

Now here is your 2014 final open WOD.
