Pistols are all about single-leg strength, ankle mobility, and balance. Here are a few more drills from WODprep you can use to practice all three of those elements and build to your first pistol.

Warm Up

2 rounds:
500m row
10 walking lunges
2 wall walks
5 strict pull ups
10 burpees

Conditioning

“Mary” 
20-minute AMRAP
5 handstand push ups
10 pistols
15 pull ups
